More fixes based on #710. The maturin example was pretty badly out of date, not
using modern (0.21+) modules. Based the updates on Se4Sci's page
(https://se-for-sci.github.io/content/week10_binding/06-rust.html), which I
recently taught from and updated.
More parts are rendered from the cookie with cog, as well.
