Variant restrictions not supported by migration script / template files?

I was trying out the migration script and got the following warning:

Are variant restrictions supported in the new template files? It's not very clear from the new docs.

Hey @mryechkin, thanks for taking a look!

Variant restrictions are not supported in template files. As template files let you write any conditional logic, we haven't yet seen a need to support them. For the migration script we'll like combine all your templates in one file with if/else statements.

Curious if you have any other use cases for variant restrictions!

That's great - thanks for confirming @slees-figma! I was hoping that would be the answer, haha.

I think for my current usage that solves it. I'm liking this new direction for template files - will this be the path forward, or are you guys still experimenting with things?
